Takhte Jamshid

Takhte Jamhsid (Persepolis) was one of the most beautiful capital city of Hakhamaneshian. Takhte Jamshid is currently in Shiraz, Iran. Persepolis means the city of Persia, that is why they named it Persepolis. Darius I started to build this magnificent city in 518 BC. He finished the city and moved his capital city to Persepolis in 515 BC. More than 2500 years ago, 10,000 workers at a time spent 120 years building this remarkable royal city, complete with running water and an underground sewer system. Darius also ordered to build the Apadana palace. Apadana palace was started to be build in the beginning of the 5th century by king Darius I, but king Xerxes(Khashayar) finished the palace in the end of the 5 century. The Great Alexander of Greece, attacked Iran and put Takhte Jamshid on fire and lots of ancient books and phenomenons were burned.
